Francis Coppola Reserve Petite Sirah Dessert Wine 2006 -- 100% Ruby's Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley! Petite Sirah is ideal for creating a Port-style wine, which is produced by stopping fermentation while there is still sugar left in the wine and then adding grape brandy to the tank. The resulting wine becomes higher in alcohol, as you may well imagine, and well suited for aging. Ports made from Petite Sirah typically offer juicy flavors of baked blackberry pie, sugared plums and sweet black cherries as well as notes of dark chocolate and seasoned wood. Pair our Petite Sirah Port with chocolate or toffee desserts, hard or bleu cheeses, and toasted nuts for a decadent after dinner treat.
2007 Votre Santé Pinot Noir -- Grown along the cool Sonoma Coast, Votre Santé Pinot Noir is crafted in a refined, graceful style, light in body and very food friendly. This French-styled Pinot Noir is endowed with a silky texture, delicate aromatics, and a bright acidity. It reveals a nose of cranberries and spice, followed by flavors of fresh strawberries and cinnamon, with notes of autumn leaves. The Votre Santé wines pay tribute to Francis Coppola's grandmother who would toast with the traditional French phrase, "a votre santé" whenever she raised her glass.
Francis Coppola Reserve Pinot Noir 2007 -- Click here to see a video clip of winemaker Corey Beck on the Reserve Pinot Noir. Francis Coppola Reserve 2007 Russian River Pinot Noir hails from Coffey Vineyard, a small parcel of land situated just off the river. Its well-drained sandy clay loam soils create an ideal environment for Clone 37 Pinot Noir, and contribute greatly to the specific flavors and aromas that can be attributed to this vineyard. Available exclusively through the Rosso & Bianco winery and the online store, our 2007 Reserve Pinot Noir offers an intense perfume of rose petals and dried strawberries along with generous flavors of crushed raspberries, black cherries, cola and fragrant spices. Although extremely inviting now, this wine will develop further with a few years in the cellar. Serve with seasoned pork tenderloin, roast beef with wild mushrooms, or fettuccine with Italian sausage and cream sauce.
Francis Coppola Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 -- Winner of a Double Gold Medal at the prestigious San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. What are the characteristics of our Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon? Let our winemaker, Corey Beck tell you. Click here for a video clip. The Francis Coppola Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Alexander Valley Cabernet. It offers rich, dark flavors of blackberry, plum, cocoa and toasty oak, and is incredibly long on the palate. Pair this exquisite wine with Bleu cheese topped filets, shepherd’s pie, and pesto penne. Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon; Alcohol: 14.1%; Aged: 16 mo. new French & American oak.
Francis Coppola Reserve Syrah 2006 -- Click here to see a video clip of winemaker Corey Beck discuss the Reserve wines. Francis Coppola Reserve 2006 Dry Creek Valley Syrah is single vineyard designate from Mounts Vineyard. It is co-fermented with a small percentage of Viognier to lift the aromatics and help “set” this varietal’s bright-magenta color. Enjoy an enticing perfume of cherries, currants, leather and allspice. Generous flavors of raspberries and black plums finish with a hint of clove, plus smooth, ripe tannins support a long seductive finish. Australians have made the varietal incredibly popular (under the name "Shiraz"), but here in California, we do the grape justice too! Dry Creek Valley experiences temperature differentials, with the valley acting as a funnel to capture marine breezes, which cool the vineyards every evening. Because there is a substantial difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures, the growing season lasts longer, so the grapes mature more slowly. This accentuates the jammy, dark fruit . . .
Director's Cut Zinfandel 2007 -- Hear what winemaker Corey Beck has to say about the Director's Cut Zinfandel! Click here for a video clip. Every bottle of Director's Cut honors the history of filmmaking. The graphic band which encircles the bottle was used in a 19th century invention called a zoetrope, which produces the illusion of moving pictures. To ensure that we get the maximum amount of color and flavor from our Zinfandel grapes, we use a variety of techniques, which include fermentation in open-top fermenters for approximately one week and implementing several punch downs a day. We also blend in small amounts of Petite Sirah for added structure. The wine was aged in French oak barrels for a mere twelve months. That was all that was necessary given the fully mature internal structure of the grapes and the fact we didn’t want to mask a single one of this vintage’s amazing aromatic compounds. This wine pushes the envelope of sheer decadence with an expressive fragrance of briary berries, strawberry jam, pepper and . . .
Director's Cut Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 -- Wine & Spirits! just gave our previous vintage a 91 point score. This 2006 is already bringing in recognition: "Best of Class" - Los Angeles International Wine CompetitionWhat is the style of the Director's Cut Cabernet? Let winemaker Corey Beck tell you. Click here for a video clip. We chose to make a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon rather than blend in other varietals so that we could create a real terroir wine that demonstrates true varietal character. This vintage experienced a 20% reduction in crop yield. Less fruit enables the grapes to develop more concentration. Not only are the wine’s tannins sweet and mature from the extended growing season, the flavors are ripe, lush and prolonged on the finish because of the fruit’s immense concentration.
Director's Cut Cinema 2006 -- Cinema is a blend comprised of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley and 42% Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley. The resulting wine is very similar in nature to an Italian "Super Tuscan," dark and rich but with an exotic spice character and edge of earthiness.Because this wine is so special and so limited,we are rewarding our club members by offering it exclusively to you. But don't hesitate, it won't last long.Amici members: 6 bottle limitAmanti members: 12 bottle limitIf you would like to learn about all of the benefits of membership, click here. Those who are fans of Super Tuscans will enjoy the spicy, full-bodied nature of this wine as well as the rich, dark berry fruit impressions, which are layered with flavors of cherries, plums, eucalyptus, cocoa and allspice. And, because this wine has already spent 20 months in barrel, it displays an elegant texture that makes it compatible with a wide variety of cuisines.Cabernet thrives in Alexander Valley because the region experiences . . .
Francis Coppola Diamond Alicante Bouschet 2007 -- Why did we decide to make an Alicante Bouschet? Click here and let winemaker Corey Beck tell you the story. As a child, Francis Coppola’s grandfather made homemade wine using Alicante Bouschet grapes shipped in by train. Some years back, Mr. Coppola expressed a yearning for that unique varietal he grew up with, so we traveled about and tasted grapes in order to find the vineyard we thought produced the highest quality Alicante. We found that vineyard in Lodi, California, an appellation well known for producing red varietals that thrive in a warm climate. Our Magenta Label Alicante Bouschet is made from the fruit of 85-year-old vines. Rich in color and loaded with lush, jammy fruit, this smooth, medium-bodied red is richly textured, long on the finish, and easy to pair with a variety of grilled meats, barbecued pork sandwiches and international favorites such as empanadas. Limit: 2 bottles per customerLimit for Rosso & Bianco Members: 6 bottles
Francis Coppola Diamond Malbec 2006 -- Why did we choose Celestial Blue for our Malbec label? Click here to find out. Malbec has a fascinating history. It's one of the five Bordeaux varietals and has been growing in the south of France for centuries. There, and here in California, it is blended to add color and flavor without tannins. More recently, Malbec has become Argentina’s most prolific wine export, bottled as its own impressive single varietal. The character of Malbec falls between Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon - less tannic than Cabernet, more full-bodied than Merlot. It exudes rich, dark fruits, currants, and cassis, but there is an inherent note of minerals that makes it distinct. Limit: 12 bottles per customer.
Francis Coppola Diamond Claret 2006 -- Our 2006 Diamond Claret was a Gold Medal Winner at both the Long Beach Grand Cru Wine Competition AND the California State Fair Wine Competition! How did we "raise the bar" on our new Claret? Click here to see what winemaker Corey Beck has to say. The 2006 vintage marks the first year we produced Claret at our new home in Sonoma County. This is the first year we blended in fruit from Rosso & Bianco winery, sourcing Merlot and Cabernet Franc from our Estate vines in Geyserville.
Francis Coppola Diamond Merlot 2006 -- Gold Medal Winner - San Francisco International Wine CompetitionWhy does winemaker Corey Beck add Syrah to our Diamond Merlot? Click here to find out. By sourcing fruit from several appellations we can create a Merlot exuding multiple layers of flavors. Grapes from Napa provide weight, sweet fruit flavors, intense aromatics; Sonoma fruit contributes natural acidity to create more balance and finesse; Monterey County grapes provide concentration. To enrich the color, we blend in small amounts of Syrah and Petite Sirah. It is aged in small French oak barrels, which lend lovely notes of sweet vanilla to this elegant, full-bodied Merlot.
Francis Coppola Diamond Pinot Noir 2007 -- What is the character of the Diamond Pinot Noir? Click here to see what winemaker Corey Beck has to say. The Diamond Collection Pinot Noir has exceptionally dark color, which is not typical of the varietal. It exhibits explosive aromatics and impressive concentration, due in large part to the well-draining soils of our Monterey vineyards. Tannins are supple and the finish on this wine is extremely lengthy. "Monterey experienced an outstanding 2007 season. Budbreak occurred later than normal due to a cold winter; however, in spite of the chilly temperatures there was little precipitation. As a result, the vines were not vigorous and produced fewer and smaller fruit clusters. The benefit of having reduced amounts of fruit is that the grapes become tremendously concentrated." - Corey Beck, Winemaker
Francis Coppola Diamond Syrah-Shiraz 2006 -- Gold Medal and 94 Points - 2008 California State Fair Double Gold Medal - 2008 Indy International Wine Competition Who came up with the name "Syrah-Shiraz"? Click here to find out. Unlike others in this category, our unique Syrah-Shiraz is sourced from three specific vineyards in the central coast. Our San Lucas vineyard is positioned on a southeastern facing slope, with fewer hours of intense sunlight, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly. This provides the fruit with better concentration and intense blackberry aromas. Grapes from our Paso Robles vineyard contribute red raspberry flavors and a velvety texture. We then blend it with small amounts of Petite Sirah from our Hames Valley vineyard, lending it depth and structure.
Francis Coppola Diamond Zinfandel 2006 -- Gold Medal Winner from the Long Beach Grand Cru Wine Competition! Why do we add Petite Syrah to our Diamond Zinfandel? Click here to have winemaker Corey Beck tell you why. When people ask us where the best Zinfandel is grown, we aren’t quite sure what to say because there are so many spectacular regions where this varietal thrives. Our Diamond Zinfandel captures the essence of several different appellations, which when blended together create this unique and complex wine. The 2006 vintage is special because it marks the first year we made our Diamond Collection wines at our new home in Sonoma County. Having our very own winemaking facility not only heightens the quality of our wines, it fills us with a sense of pride and accomplishment, and fulfills our longtime goal of being able to give our hallmark Diamond wines a home.
Francis Coppola Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 -- 90 Points - Cheers Gold Medal - Los Angeles International Wine CompetitionWondering what the taste profile of our Diamond Cabernet is? Click here to see what winemaker Corey Beck would say. We combine fruit from appellations as far north as El Dorado and as far south as Paso Robles, where soils range from sandy clay loam to black volcanic obsidian. Likewise, some of our vineyards experience a unique diurnal temperature pattern; extremely hot days are tempered by very cool nights, which slows the ripening process and enhances the flavor and complexity of this Cabernet. It has immense concentration, rich color, and profuse aromatics that give way to layers of enduring flavor.
The Cabernet Collection -- This is an exquisite collection for those who enjoy a variety of Cabernet Sauvignon. The Diamond Collection Ivory Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 combines fruit from appellations as far north as El Dorado and as far south as Paso Robles. You'll find a rich color, intense aromatics, and an exceptional concentration of flavors that linger on the finish.

Skywalker Ranch "Viandante del Cielo" Merlot 2005 -- "Viandante del Cielo" is made by the winemaking team at Rubicon Estate for filmmaker and friend George Lucas from fruit grown at Lucas' Skywalker Ranch in Marin County. The Marin County AVA is very special, made up of only 86 acres of vineyards. It is bordered on three sides by the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. A colder climate, Pinot Noir makes up the bulk of the planting, so a Marin Merlot is a rare treat.
